Big Brother Week #5

I'm still dumbfounded on how some of those bimbos in the house are still around!? Seriously, you are lucky they don't have me do the voting all on my own... Help vote to get those id-10-t's out! Now onto the good stuff, the juice of the post.

*********************************************************************************************

This week I'll try not to complain about the same people. I'm honestly realizing that all I really do is talk crap so in light of it being a happy week I'm going to find some positives in each player that I call off today!

Amanda, you're a really straight forward person. You unintentionally come off as a strong person because you just tell people what you're thinking. I'm almost certain you're not meaning to offend anyone but be careful, your words might just cause a ruckus without you even planning on it. Also, you and your little pizza boy are cute, but I feel like you need to be a little nicer to him. He's too young to realize you're a firecracker, go easy on him will ya!

Andy, your a ball of energy and I wish I had HALF of the facial expressions that you have. I really wish you would get more camera time, I mean, we really hardly even know you and it's already week five in the Big Brother house. I think you deserve a little more air time, maybe stir up a little drama to get your face on the screen. Do something exciting!

Jessi you too deserve a little more camera time. I honestly don't know much about you but that I attribute to not seeing you on screen very often. I find it funny you want a showmance. Personally, I'd be embarrassed to get into one of those, I don't want America to think I'm out for love. If you're into that, try out for The Bach! Stir the pot a little, go after GinaMarie or Aaryn. You're too pretty to hide in the background and just compete occasionally!

Judd or J U Double D as you prefer to be called. The bear shirt is hilarious. It's like the Where's Waldo of the show! Constantly trying to find the shirt and then getting excited when I see someone walking around the house on the after hours show is what keeps me entertained. I have bets that this shirt will sell like hot cakes after you make it to the final four. Just finding the place you bought it is the hard part.

McCrae, now I was attempting to talk about the other folks on the show only because I wanted to give them extra "air" time but I just had to throw you in after the lasting memory I have of you and Amanda in the bathtub sharing an intimate moment... It was all cute like, she just finished telling you I love you for the first time, you repeated it back then you kissed for a couple seconds. Then BOOM, you gotta ruin it by farting, FARTING in the bathtub. Really?!?! Seriously McCrae, get with it and get a little class. That's discusting and had you done it with me I probably would have slapped you and walked right up to Judd (the only decent one left in the house) and started making out with him instead. You need some schoolin boy!

Here's the most current picture I created with the houseguests that are still left in the house. I think it's fun to X them out! It's almost like I'm doing my own "fade" picture like they do once they walk out of the house. Except I just put a giant black X through them and do my little evil laugh while doing so. Think by luck there will be a pattern on how they exit? Think I'll luck out and score a BINGO!? Just kidding :)

FINAL GUESSES:
HoH- Aaryn (we already know this)
On The Block- Howard & Spencer (we already know this)
3rd On The Block- Elissa (this is my guess but America got to pick it)
Eviction- Howard (strong player)
MVP- McCrae (America got to pick this week)
PoV- Elissa (she doesn't want Aaryn to put her as a replacement)

*Aaaand, if you're a creeper (by accident this time) like me and want to see what is happening live in the house. Check out this link I found while browsing YouTube! Eeek, when will they tell us about it?!?!?

The Good Life: Quotable Quotes

I'm excited about this one ladies and gents! But the hard part, picking which are the best of the best! Instead, I'm just going to post a couple. I don't know if you've noticed but I don't have just one or two fav's, every week when we ask for these types of things I always list at least five or six more than required. I'm horrible with favorite pickings :)

If you didn't notice a theme with most of these they all have to do with staying positive and finding the Lord's strength through all of these situations. I have ran into some extremely stressful things in my life over the past month and for those who have reached out to check on me I thank you more than words will ever share. It's true I did quit my job, it's true I have "checked out" of my blog the past couple weeks (and I promise to be back soon hopefully, I honestly miss all of you and you're one of my things that keep me sane!) but it should also be known that it's true I trust in the Lord and his timing in my life. Amazingly I haven't been upset or angry, I haven't been stressed out as much as I assumed I would be for not having a job for almost a month. Instead I've found myself overwhelmed staying busy doing so many things that have obviously kept me away from you guys! I miss you all and don't give up on me, I'll back back soon I promise!

Big Brother Week #4

This week was extremely boring to me. I mean, nothing too exciting happened and the challenges lately have been somewhat lame, there's no crazy hype over them and the players don't go all crazy like last year's season. Come on guys, get it together and stir the pot. I wanna see more drama :)

So a little re-cap from last week: My eviction of Aaryn was wrong. She was lucky and slid by since Jeremy was the bigger target and it was a smart move on Kaitlin's part to remove herself from the block otherwise she would have been sent packing. My MVP was spot on, I mean really though America, stop picking her! The only reason she keeps winning it is because of her sister. Let her play her own game and let's see if she can handle it on her own already. I got the MVP right and that was it! I really have to focus and start to guess better, but with the PoV winner it can flip it all around in an instant so it's hard to choose who goes home without knowing the third person.

************************************************************************************************

And now onward to this weeks predictions:

Elissa- I have complained about it a little bit above but you have really got to stop banking on your sister's fame and start making a name for yourself! You've been slacking on winning anything at all! You cry about being a have not yet you haven't stepped it up yet. Stop hiding behind your friend Helen and make a bold move and instead cover for her sometime soon. No one likes a lady with too much botox done so get yourself together, stop with the fake eyelashes and pull yourself a win or two. Be bold and play the game instead of hiding in the shadows, let's see you prove you've got what it takes!

Aaryn there's a reason people keep coming after you and week after week you prove that you do not deserve to be on the show anyways. This week, you started a fight with GinaMarie over her being "mean" to you. All she did was say she was tired of your attitude of being negative about the situation of you thinking you three will be going on the block. I really hope the pretty brat you are pretending to be isn't who you are in real life. I want to believe that inside you are a genuinely nice person and that you really aren't meaning to be so hurtful!

Andy you crazy super hyper person! You might be the one person under the radar that I'm thinking might just get the chance to make it to the end without getting caught up in drama. Way to let Aaryn's comments slide by and way to be the weirdest house guest this season. You just take the back burner, play chill and be-friend everyone! How are you doing so awesome!?!?

Judd- I'm still in awe of you winning the HoH competition. It was pure luck to be honest in my opinion. I know it was a tough week but come on, stop sulking around and celebrate it! I would act the same though because I want everyone to love me and hate making others mad at me. If I were in the game I'd probably lose the competitions just so I wouldn't have to choose who to put up. Then if I were put up I'd just fight to win the PoV and rally my friends to keep me. Tough but that's the only task you're required to do as the HoH so just get it over with and stop over-analyzing it! :)

Here's the most current picture I created with the houseguests that are still left in the house. I thought this would be a fun little visual to see where or who is gone from the house! Who do you think will be next?!

FINAL GUESSES:
HoH- Judd
On The Block- Aaryn & Kaitlin (we already know this)
3rd On The Block- GinaMarie (this is my guess but America got to pick it)
Eviction- Kaitlin
MVP- Andy (America got to pick this week)
PoV- Elissa

The Good Life: Favorite Blog Post

I've already mentioned before that I cannot eliminate all of my awesome posts to only a couple so I'm changing the direction I'm taking this week and giving you a couple of my favorites instead.

#1. My Farming On The Four's is hands down my favorite and one of the main reasons I have chosen to blog! Seriously, it's so much fun to not only educate you non-farming folks but also just to compare the year to year crops on our farm. To see how good or bad the drought is, to compare how tall the crops are getting and also to just remember what dates we did what. Most of my word hits that link them to my blog are ag or farm related so that must mean they're reading my blog after wanting to find more information. I've considered time and time again to start a link-up with this topic but until I have a better interest in it I think I'll hold off...

#2. Zucchini Pie Recipe has gotten me a huge amount of hits so I had to mention it! It's on my Recipes Tab (which is under construction but still manageable). I think the reason why it's such a big hit is because it's something useful to use those wheel barrows full of zucchini with when you're tired of zucchini bread and battered zucchini. I know I usually am overwhelmed with the amount of extras so it's a fun and healthy way to make something different. And people are always impressed when you tell them it's not actually apple pie but it's a veggie instead.

#3. Kelsey's Grocery Store is also one that might be a favorite of mine. I'm an avid couponer who has fallen off the earth as of lately but luckily my stock pile has lasted us and I haven't had to buy a whole lot lately. Now the walls aren't stacked to the brim like they were in this picture but I still have a lot in there that has yet to be eaten. I've been shying away from the boxed goods as we're attempting to eat healthier but with our ever busy lifestyle it's inevitable that we're going to get busy and need some quick fix meals.

#4. Proud blog post would have to include my 1000 Gifts list. It's been tough but I've been working extra hard on it and I want to hit my 1000 thankful's here soon! I've got about 200 left to do so I'd call this successful and it's really opened my eyes to see the beauty beyond the image. At first I was looking at only the physical things I could see, like sweatshirts and potatoes but eventually I got the hang of it and my eyes opened to the things I never saw before. I started to enjoy the scent of fresh cut grass, the colors of a sunset during harvest. I really started to realize that if we slow down long enough there are so many things this world is showing us. If you'd like more info either go to that tab or read the book. Trust me, it won't disappoint you!

#5. My Coupon Binder is my last one on this list. It took me almost two years to finalize a system that works for me and I'm so glad that I took the time to really critique it and move things around until I found what worked. This was time consuming to set up and print off all the little labels but looking back it was worth it. Now I spend less time than ever putting together the weekly price matching that I do.

So there you have it, my favorite series or posts that I've created. I could add a couple more to the list but I'm sure you'd get annoyed so I'll just keep it short for ya. I hope all of you are enjoying this heat, we've got county fair beginning tonight so I'm almost certain I'll be busy for awhile still. I'm going to post more and more in my free time so stick around and try Keeping Up With Kelsey :)

Big Brother Week #3

So, let's be honest, you probably thought I was dead or in a coma right? Ya, I've felt that way too! Although I'm currently unemployed (my decision) I have been absolutely SWAMPED with busy work! Between my week long hiatus while out partying eleven hours away and teaching young bucks how to Czech dance I really haven't had a spare minute to sit down and give you guys updates. I swear that I'll fill you all in but just be patient lovies!! And now, for the real reason you're here:

**********************************************************************************************

Elissa- Your about to dig yourself in a BIG hole without a way of getting out!! I mean really, I get it. You think that because you're Rachel Riley's sister you can walk on water and America will always want to keep you around but you might be hands down just as annoying as your sister. And that lip thing, stop doing it! No one likes your facial expressions, seriously. But, I will admit I'm jealous, you are kinda pretty after all. But "pretty" doesn't win games (except for on drama shows like this) so as long as you keep finding friends to do your dirty work (Hellen) you might just luck your way out of it and end up climbing to the top. I really think she'll go far in the game now that Nick is gone. I never saw that back door move coming and I'm sad to see the Moving Company crashed and burned but maybe, just maybe, this might be her chance at winning.

McCrae you little sly devil! This past week we barely saw anything about you! What are you doing lurking in those shadows? Laying low for awhile and letting the girls take all the heat? Keep it up and you will climb your way into a final four seat. But really, I hope you cut your darn hair already! It's ugly and I have this thing with guys and weird hair. I don't mind it, but a least maintain it. Put some colors into it, comb it or just straighten it so it's not all bushy at the ends. Also, watch out for your crush Amanda. I just think she's bad news. If she admits she has a boy toy at home what's stopping her from having you as her pawn boy toy? Just watch it pizza boy!

GinaMarie- Girl literally, you have got to get over Nick going home! I know, it's sad. But all of your other buddies will go home too and I cannot handle watching you cry yourself to sleep an entire hour every week. The accented trash talk after he walked wasn't so classy and I'm glad they choose to fire you from your pageant directing position. Not a role model when the cameras are rolling so guessing you're not a role model when you're off the air either. You've got game when it comes to mad trash talk but during competitions you suck. Focus on that more and you might have a chance to win this. Trash talking the other players is not only rude but it's also a way to earn a quick ticket out of here. The numbers are slowly turning and you're going to loose momentum so stop acting all tough and suck up to those in power. Trust me, you'll thank me once your girl scout troop moves out in these next couple of weeks.

Aaryn- You're in deep doo doo not only with America but with your lifestyle choices! I'm not 100% sure what makes you think that making racial comments are ok and then flat out denying it but it's not. I realize you're from Texas and I'm guessing down there your family did deal with racial moments in time but that does not give you an excuse to act like an uneducated bimbo and throw around words like they mean nothing. People do get offended when you say hurtful things and you do deserve some type of consequence for saying them. It sucks that you've lost your job but trust me, once people see you on the streets losing your job will be the least of your concerns. It's sad to see you at 22 years old messing your entire life up because you're trying to belittle someone. I was rooting for you for awhile but now that I've seen the real you I know your days are coming to an end. And flipping Candice's bed was childish. I know you guys get bored in the house but that was rude. It was nice of you to make a fake apology but I could tell it wasn't sincere enough.

Andy- Step up your game brother! You're awkward and funny to watch in private interviews but you really need to get with the program. I know you're not a true floater but you're acting like a wimp whose always hiding in corners. I want to see you make a move or two to see what you're made of. I don't think we've even seen you get into an argument yet. Come on! Entertain me at least a little bit!

Helen- You might be using your political campaigning background to your advantage right now but I really don't see you going far. Elissa will throw you under the bus just like her sister did so watch your back. Congrats on the HOH, you deserved it but your victory dance was too much for me. I'm still not sure how you're playing this game but crying to Elissa about missing home won't help it any. Just suck it up and know that your kiddos are watching you. At least you're being a good role model to them!

And now for my guesses:
FINAL GUESSES
On The Block- Aaryn & Kaitlin (we already know this)
3rd On The Block- GinaMarie (this is my guess)
Eviction- Aaryn
MVP- Elissa
PoV- Aaryn

Guest Post: Rebecca from Caravan Sonnet

I'm not 100% certain how me and Rebecca became friends, but I am for sure that I fell in love with her once I really started reading her blog. She blogs over at Caravan Sonnet. She's kind, considerate and always thinking of others! I love the fact that she honors God and believes that he comes first in life, I too have learned that this is extremely important. More so lately because of events that have been going on in my life. I'm not 100% confident in posting it out there yet but if you're interested I'm 110% sure I'll explain via message so don't be scared to ask. Or even send me a quick prayer, even better!!

***********************************************************************************

Right after I was diagnosed with my chronic illness I went to work reading many different books and doing tons of research (which I am sure everyone does!). One of the books that people kept recommending was Norman Cousins book called "Anatomy of an Illness" so I definitely made a point to read this book. I was inspired and amazed by his story and would definitely recommend it. Cousins was diagnosed with a debilitating disease where his body would literally fuse together. It was incredibly painful and incurable. Cousins shared that doctors only gave him a 500 to 1 chance of recovery. DESPITE those odds Cousins implemented his own "treatment" and eventually recovered. In his book he discusses the entire method of what he did but one of the things that he spoke about was the influence that laughter had on his healing process. Cousins (after he obtained his doctors' approval) chose not to stay in the hospital but he stayed in a hotel room (near the hospital) and in addition to his diet and vitamins he gave himself (as he termed it) "laugh therapy". Cousins watched and read anything that would bring him laughter. Overtime he started to see that for every ten minutes of laughter he would have a couple of pain free hours.

Now, BEFORE I receive a ton of emails stating that this is not physically possible (I will share some scientific evidence) I do want to say that I do understand that when you are in pain and not feeling well it is sometimes hard to find the laughter. I do understand. Seriously, I do. But as I read the following statistics and information again I was convinced again about the importance of finding joy in all of our circumstances.

Doctors say that laughter:
(1) can distract attention away from illness or pain
(2) can reduce tension
(3) can change a persons expectations by encouraging a different outlook
(4) can increase the production of endorphins which is the bodies natural pain killers

Some hospitals around the United States have even incorporated "laughter programs" to help their patients heal. There was an article years ago about a Catholic hospital in Texas where nuns told funny stories to patients on a daily basis so that they would feel better and heal more quickly. Laughter is truly an important process of the recovery process.

Honestly, I do understand how difficult some days can be when you are hurting and sick or sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. But did you know that it actually takes more effort and energy not to smile then it does to smile and laugh? It takes forty-three muscles to frown but only seventeen to smile. WOW!

So what are some ways that you can find laughter ~ especially on days where it feels like that is the last thing you want to be doing? Here are a few ideas:

* rent funny movies (don't forget about the old ones! Last spring I rediscovered some classics!)
* read funny books
* read the comics
* read funny blogs (seriously, some are hilarious!)
* find the joy in simple things. Scamper, my kitty can make me laugh with things that he does. There are so many simple things around in life that you can find to bring out laughter.
* I actually have chosen to not watch anything that would cause stress, tension, or negative thoughts to go into my life. (Am I the only one or are some of those lifetime movies just downright scary?!?)
* Try not to take things so seriously. I am preaching to the choir on this because with being ill it can be difficult not to do this. I have learned though that if you look for the bad you will find it but if you look for the joy you can find joy.
* keep old emails, article clippings, letters, etc. that bring joy and laughter to look at often.
* laugh at yourself.

Last week I shared my endometriosis story and to this day I will never forget a situation that happened during this time period. My mom and I were in a very populated mall when I received the phone call that the surgeon (from across the country) would accept me as a patient but would not be able to have an appointment available for an additional three months. This might not sound like a big deal but at the time it was and my mom and I sat down and bawled our eyes out right there in the middle of the mall. As we realized that people were staring at us we started to giggle and then couldn't stop laughing. To this day we laugh about this incident. Don't be afraid to step out and laugh!

***********************************************************************************

Ok, so I learned a few things. I'm going through a tough time right now. I'm upset and angry, there's a lot of tension in my life but I need to just laugh. So, someone send me a joke or two. Please?!?!

Also, don't forget if you're interested in doing a guest post or would like to get in on the action and inform others of a fun subject get a hold of me (kelseyhomolka@hotmail.com). Farming On The Four's

Gonna back track a little bit to get caught up but I do have all the pictures so I just need to dump them in for you guys!

The corn is getting taller! I love watching it grow and this year, although it had a slow start it's still over knee high by this fourth! We've caught an occasional rainstorm here and there but nothing significant enough to keep the dust down. If you look in the pictures we're obviously still in dire need or rain. The cracks are getting bigger and I'm kind of worried that we're going to start looking down into them and see China!

I'm wanting to focus on doing two views so you can get a visual to see how much they've grown!

Big Brother Week #1

It's our first link-up and there's already so much I want to talk about! Starting off I wanted to mention that this link-up can go any direction you want it to go. If you'd rather chit chat about how you hate so and so, that's your perogative. If you'd like to go the route of making guess' on who the winners will be, I challenge you! Make it fun and interesting!

************************************************************************************************

I really didn't have time to watch the episodes but I quickly watched them anyways. The first couple weeks are hard for me, I have a short term memory issue and I cannot for the life of me remember names of house guests. Quite frankly, I don't try to remember their names because I know half of them won't be on the show much longer.

A couple that really stuck out for me:

Elissa- Ok, first off, she's RACHEL RILEY'S sister! Threat? Double Check! If she's anything like her sister, watch out. Not for the fact that she could win but for the simple fact that if she doesn't win, she'll annoy you to death in the process! Ugh!! Kill me softly... I think she's gonna be a drama queen, just by watching her the first night she acts all tough but mentally she falls apart quickly. She just seems overly confident and I think her sister winning is giving her a big head. Don't bank on her taking home the half mil.

Next up is the good ol air head David. I want to believe this guy with go far in the game but I cannot for the life of me get past him flipping his fair back every five minutes. Use hairspray boy! I think right off the bat he's gonna be a chick magnet. I'm not so much into surfer dudes but there are so many ladies in this world who judge a character by the way they look that this dude will have no problem attracting those gals. Good luck this summer David!

And now is the weird McCrae. Hands down, creepy. At first glace, he reminded me of another Ian the show's last season winner. I thought at first he could potentially win it but unlike Ian he just doesn't have it. I can't pinpoint why, but he's just awkward. I think he'll go far in the house but he won't hit the home run to make it home. But, if he plays a good game, this guy might capture America through it all. Thus far, my vote is for him on the MVP!

GinaMarie- Like seriously, over the top obnoxious, giving Jersey a bad name, total accent, prissy pants, drama sucking queen. I wish I lived in the house to vote her out. The house guests see her as a total friend but I think this little knifing pageant coordinator is gonna throw the house for a loop. Don't make her mad, she'll tell you how it is while playing with her fake long extensions. Say it with me friends, DO NOT TRUST HER!

Judd, the only reason I added him to the topic's of discussion for this week is because I absolutely just love him. I'm not sure why, but I feel he's gonna be a good player this season. He seems like he lacks common sense but that's alright, he's captivating to watch. He's got a personality that makes you want to dig around and find out his story. Like, what's you history? Maybe it's just because I'm interested in the south and he seems like a good ol boy. That or probably because he's boring and laid back.
