30DoB (Day 5)


Welcome everyone! To those who are new jump on in! No need to back track and catch up on what you've missed (unless of course you want to, then by all means please do). Grab the button and blog about today's question. We love including newbies and are excited to see what you have to say each day!

RUNNING!

...wait, you probably already knew that part right?

What you didn't know is that my actual running routine varies depending on the day and temperature.
Basically that means, my routine consists of slacking off the entire day, whining about the weather if it's above or below a certain temperature and then once I finally lace up my shoes and stretch. I'm normally ok with logging the miles.

I'd have to say the hardest part by far is the first mile. After that I'm normally fine but getting into the grove of it, ignoring the howling wind or cloudy skies is my toughest part to overcome. I'm such a pansy and it's so incredibly hard to keep myself focus and motivated to keep pushing through that tough part but once I hit that peak of "ok I can do this" I'm normally good for the rest of the workout.

Now, the next part of the question, how often do I do my running routines?

That question entirely depends on my week and when my next race is. 

Normally I try to log three to four solid days of running but with winter I took a nose dive into the NO RUNNING ZONE and realized that I was often not even running five times a month. It always happens, I always pick back up in the spring and normally I often force myself to run more to pick up for the slack. 
That's what works for me. I like to try to stay consistent and with all the super cool apps and high tech gear you can wear it's enough to motivate me to push myself through the hard part just to see progress on my nerdy graphs and stuff. 
Basically, I suggest you don't listen to me and just do what works for you...
Some people can dedicate themselves to a gym to work hard and others (like me) are intimidated by the gym so instead opt to love running. I just encourage everyone to workout and burn those calories in the way that works best for them. At the end of the day we're all trying to get fit and stay healthy and as long as you keep that goal in mind it's ok to do whatever you want and work it!

  1. I think it Is awesome that you run and are so motivated. I have trouble sticking with working out. But it is my goal this month to start.
